East Africa offers year-round safari experiences. The peak dry seasons (June–October and January–February) offer the best wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources. July–October is prime for the Great Migration river crossings in the Maasai Mara. For gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda, June–September and December–February are ideal.

We recommend booking at least 4–6 months in advance, especially for peak season travel (July–October) and gorilla trekking permits. Premium lodges and exclusive camps can fill up 9–12 months ahead. However, we can often accommodate shorter notice — contact us and we'll check availability.

Every itinerary we design is built from scratch around your specific preferences — destinations, travel dates, group size, budget, accommodation style, activities and pace. We don't offer fixed packages. From the first enquiry to your return home, every detail is personalised for you.

Inclusions vary by itinerary but typically cover accommodation, all meals, game drives, park entry fees, a safari vehicle and professional guide (private or shared as specified in your quotation), and airport transfers. International flights, visas, gratuities and personal expenses are usually separate. Your full proposal will clearly list exactly what is and isn't included.

Most nationalities require a visa. Kenya and Tanzania offer e-visas online. Uganda and Rwanda issue visas on arrival and online. An East Africa Tourist Visa covers Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in one application. We advise all guests to check requirements for their specific passport and apply early. Yes! We design wonderful family safaris with child-friendly game drives, appropriate lodges, and engaging guides. Most properties welcome children aged 5 and above on game drives. Some ultra-exclusive camps have minimum age requirements, which we'll flag clearly. Gorilla trekking requires participants to be at least 15 years old.

Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Uganda and Rwanda, and recommended for Tanzania. Malaria prophylaxis is advised for most safari areas. We recommend consulting a travel health clinic at least 6–8 weeks before departure. We'll also provide destination-specific health advice as part of your pre-departure briefing.

We typically require a 30% deposit to confirm your booking, with the balance due 60 days before departure. Cancellation policies vary by lodge and season, and we provide full details in your booking agreement. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment.
