Your 6-Day Journey
From Nairobi arrival to your final morning with the elephants — every day paced and planned with children in mind.

Arrival & Welcome Game Drive
Meet your family-friendly guide in Nairobi and drive out to the Maasai Mara, with a rest stop along the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Settle into your family tent, then head out for a gentle afternoon game drive as the plains cool into evening.

Full Day Game Drives & Junior Ranger Program
A full day exploring the Mara's plains, tracking lion prides, elephant herds and, if in season, the wildebeest migration. In the afternoon, kids join a guide-led Junior Ranger session — learning animal tracks, calls, and bush skills.

Maasai Village Visit & Drive to Naivasha
Start with a morning game drive, then visit a local Maasai village where kids can meet local children, watch a traditional dance, and learn about Maasai daily life. After lunch, drive to Lake Naivasha and settle into your family lodge on the water.
Boat Safari & Crescent Island Walk
A morning boat ride across Lake Naivasha to spot hippos, fish eagles and pelicans, followed by a walking safari on predator-free Crescent Island — the whole family can walk right up close to giraffe, zebra and waterbuck. Afternoon drive back to Nairobi.

Elephant Orphanage & Giraffe Centre
Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to watch rescued baby elephants during their public feeding hour, then head to the Giraffe Centre for a chance to hand-feed Rothschild's giraffes at eye level. The afternoon is free for the pool or a family rest.

Optional Morning Game Drive & Farewell
For an early-morning add-on, take a short game drive in Nairobi National Park — the only capital city safari park in the world, with the skyline as a backdrop. Return for breakfast, then transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

What Our Guests Say

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often.
Most of our family camps welcome children of all ages, though many game drives are best suited to children aged 5 and up. Let us know your children's ages and we'll confirm the right camps and pacing for your family.
We recommend neutral-coloured safari layers (khakis, olives, tans) for game drives, comfortable closed shoes for the Crescent Island walk, swimwear for the lodge pools, and a light jacket for cool Naivasha mornings.
Applicable national park fees, conservancy fees, and entry fees for the Giraffe Centre and elephant orphanage depend on your itinerary and quotation — your specialist will confirm exactly which authority charges apply to your trip.
Absolutely. We can adjust drive times, add rest days, arrange babysitting at camp, or extend the Nairobi portion with additional kid-friendly activities — all on request.
This itinerary runs well year-round, since it isn't tied to the migration. School holiday periods (July–August and December) book up quickest, so we recommend reserving 3–6 months in advance for those dates.
